Project Summary:

The total geographical area of the district is 103307 hectare in which fertile land is 69060 hectare. The annual rainfall recorded in the district is 988 m.m. Rainy season started in the district from 2nd to 3rd month of June to 30th September. Agriculture is the main form of employment of this area. The district is bounded by three rivers i.e. Ganga, Varuna & Morwa. The continuous rise in the level of Ganga & Morwa river leads to flood in Gyanpur and Aurai whereas Increase in the level of river Varuna leads to flood in Bhadohi.  There are two villages in our project area Itwa & Dwarikapur which are the flood prone areas. SRF is working with these two villages for helping the people of these villages economically and socially.

Major Achievements:
  1. Lokmanpur village of our project area where the population is more than 1000 and 80% of the housed were made adjacent to one another. There was no proper facility of trash/rubbish decantation before the houses after the formation of “Go Green Club” the members of the club with the help of their parents dig a pit of 6 feet depth after every 4 houses. All the village members started decaying the wastage of their homes in that pit. People of the villages were really happy by the initiatives of children.
  2. SRF became the member in Disaster District cell after his good efforts.
  3. Out of total five villages of the district 2 are from our project area i.e. Itwa and Dwarikapur are flood prone areas. These two villages get time to time support during the time of flood by SRF.During this year at the time of floods according to govt. norms we have conducted proper survey and provide benefit to 106 families.
