Dr. Shambhunath Singh Research Foundation commonly known as SRF is a secular, not for profit development organization, which was established by the group of development professionals receiving its inspiration from the renowned literary figure, culturist and social activist late Dr. Shambhunath Singh. The foundation of the organization was laid by the former Prime Minister of India Mr. Chandra Shekhar, on November 9, 1989, while formally registered under section 21 of the ‘Societies Registration Act’ on December 31st, 1991.
Over the period, the organization has marked its presence as a committed, target oriented development agency, guided by professional values, with long term sustainable objectives to pursue integrated community development. In this journey of more than three decades, SRF has undertaken various interventions on issues related with child rights & development, women empowerment, gender issues, human rights, urban development, health, nutrition, ECCD, climate change, Disaster Risk Mitigation, environment protection, etc. in collaboration with a number of national and international organizations including different Ministries/Departments of Central and State governments such as Ministry of Women and Child development and Ministry of Labour, NCPCR, NCW, UNICEF, World Food programme, CRY-Child Rights & You, Plan India, Action Aid, Step Foundation, PACT Inc. (USA), Zenseikyo Foundation Japan, Label Step-Max havellar foundation Switzerland, SIFPSA, UPSACS, UPHSDP, Mahila Kalyan Nigam, CSWB, Care India, JICA- Japanese International Coperation Agency, CSR project with Everest foundation- Uttarakhand and ESSAE foundation through Janani trust- Bengaluru, etc.
